Money and Costs

Help File
Currency, Exchanging Money, Credit Cards, Tipping, Bargaining, Costs...

there is 19%tax on every product!!! included in price not like in US...

you can oficially use Euros also, but be prepared that only in big supermarkets probably only in Bratislava would accept that, and most probably only Euro banknotes...

debet and credit cards are accepted in most of the supermarkets ..but you might have unexpected troubles in more removed regions of Slovakia,...and especially on train stations and bus terminals...usually the electronic payment is not accepted will find a lot of ATM machines every bigger cities ...

the biggest net of banks and money machines has Tatra Banka (mostly in Bratislava) and Slovenska Sporitelna. If you want to make your ownt acount ....Tatra Banka is probably the best choice according to its most built infrastructure. ....eventhough ...their foreign policys are very stupid...but you wont find any better in Slovakia!

it is usually better to change money in Bank than in Change!!! Many Banks they have no 0% payment ...and the courses are usually better..and its safer anyway.

Using travellers checques almost unknown in Slovakia dont expect you ll be welcome with them...
