Food and Drinks and Local Specialties

Help File
Restaurants: Creol restaurants are all around the place. Target those, you can have a pizza back home. Supermarkets: The huge supermarkets are taking over the island. They adapt to the local habits but you can find pretty much anything that would be sold in France. Street Food: The typical street junk-food is "bouchon". Some sort of meat wrapped in a rice leaf. With soy sauce or ketchup it's delicious. Local Specialties: If you don't like spicy food, tell it every time you order anything, or else it will be spicy. Don't miss: Samoussas and bonbon piment as appetizer (almost always spicy) / Cari is THE local main-course speciality. It's always cari-something, the most famous being cari-poulet (chicken).
