Go where the locals go:
- avoid the vondelpark and go to the westerpark
- if you have seen the markets in the beautiful Jordaan, go for a change to the exotic and multicultural foodmarket in the Bijlmer.
Many guests I have want to visit the Anne Frankhuis. Please note that this house is a replica and not the place where she lived. Outside there are always (even early in the morning) very long lines. I would like to suggest people who are interested in ww2 and the "jewish situation" in it to go to the "hollandse schouwburg". This is the place where the jewish people(a.o.)were brought to in ww2 before they were transported to the camps. It is open from 11 until 4pm and has an excellent exhibition on the holocaust.
