Motovun Film festival (www.motovunfilmfestival.com), Istarska zupanija, end of July - movie festival in a small Istria town placed on a top of a big hill with no celebrities but just movies and partying to the dawn. Lot of rock music oriented people camp in a improvised camp and if you have similar interests you should come here. It is in summer and sea is not to far away - 20min by car.
ATP Croatia Open (www.croatiaopen.hr)
Umag, end of July - if you are into sports(tennis) and want to see some of the best claycourt players for small price wisit this tournament. Umag is tourist town on the coast.
Spancirfest (www.spancirfest.com), Varazdin, end of August - the biggest street festival in Croatia. 10 days of street artists and performers, rock and jazz concerts and many more.
