Who needs a visa? How to get it? Embassies & Consulates, of the country abroad and in the country |
UPDATE: starting from January 2013 the citizens of EU and USA do not need visas to enter Armenia. As regards to the citizens of other countries - it's safer to check with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at www.mfa.am if you have to apply visa in advance or a visa may be purchased upon arrival. The cost of tourist visa has been reduced to AMD 3000 or € 8 for the most cases.
Everyone needs a visa to enter Armenia except for nationals of following 10 countries: Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Montenegro (with invitation only), Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
You can either apply to visa to your closest Armenian Embassy or buy one at the airport or any border crossing.
The cost of single entry visa is AMD 15,000 (approx. € 30 or $ 45). Alternatively you can apply for an e-visa from the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, but this is only valid for entry at Zvarntos airport. The cost of e-visa is $60 (and you can pay for it only on-line).
