Currency: the Libyan Dinar, Exchanging Money: this can be done at all banks and some hotels, however you will get better deals changing ur money at jewlery shops, however this is illegal, and the savings may or may not be the trouble, Credit Cards: at the moment there is limited credit card acceptance or even travelers cheques. Visa and Documents and Embassies

Almost everyone except Tunisians & Egyptians need a visa.
Libyan consulates issue visas are only after an invitation letter by a Libyan company (business or tourism company) has been issued.
Note you will also need a notarized translation of your passport, which has to be attached to the latter, usually in form of a stamp which is then filled out by a translator.
You can also get issued the visa at the airport in Tripoli, but in this case your guide will have to meet you there ... more

Bars, Cafes, Discos, Cinemas... Forget about it, there is no bars, alcohol, or discos. there is lots of coffe shops where u can smoke tobacco, but thats about it. Libya is not a place to go for night life, its a place to go for the history and the culture and the lack of tourists
