Guatemala Facts Guatemala is the northernmost country in Central America. It borders on the Caribbean Sea, between Honduras and Belize, and also borders on the Pacific Ocean, between El Salvador and Mexico. The money in Guatemala is called the Quetzal. There are eight different denominations: 1,5, 10, and 50 cents and bills of 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 Quetzales.
Exchanging Money,
Where to exchange money? All banks are open to the public from Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 (and some banks offer service at external windows until 19:00). Who needs a visa? How to get it? Embassies & Consulates, of the country abroad and in the country


US, Canada, EU Countries, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Israel and Japan citizens do not need a visa tourist to come to Guatemala.

Iceland, Southafrica and Eastern European countries are some of the ones that need to contact the nearest Guatemalan embassy to get a tourist visa.
