Welcome to my country. I live in a part of Kathmandu within close walking distance to markets and the vibrant Thamel area that houses many shops for souvenirs, restaurants, and various nightlife activities. I am very knowledgeable about Nepal, particularly about Kathmandu and all trekking in the Himalayas as my former occupation was as a trekking porter and as a guide from 1995 to 2000. From 2000 to 2004 I was heavily involved in Porters' Progress which is an organization focused on fair labor practices for trekking porters. Currently, I own my own company coordinating treks and tours in Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan, which in keeping with my original purpose of being an advocate and resource for porters, I aim to improve working and living conditions of porters. As such, I have also started a new advocacy organization called Porters Protection. If you need any information about these regions or about trekking I am always happy to entertain your questions and will answer them as best as I can.
