Introduction
Kansas City is a great little city in the heart of the U.S. Just a few hours from BOTH the population AND the geographic center of the U.S. (excluding Alaska a & Hawii), we put the "mid" back in the Mid-West!

Top Things to See and Do
We're famous for our BBQ, Jazz, and fountains, but we also have amazing art museums, a variety of sport teams, lots of local theater, great food, and decent nightlife. A fantastic stopping point if you're traveling across the states.
Specifics include: Art- Nelson Art Museum, Kemper Art Museum, Crossroads Art District (First Fridays the best!). Theme Parks- Worlds of Fun, Oceans of Fun, Sports Teams: Kansas City Royals, Cheifs, and Wizards, Woodlands Horse Racing, Nascar Track. Museums/Sights: Negro League Baseball Museum, the Plaza (lights on Thanksgiving-Jan 15), Theater/Music: Kansas City Symphony, Ballet, Crown Center, American Jazz Museum, Renaissance Festival (fall only), Science City/Union Station, Truman Library, Louis and Clark trails.

Neighbor regions/States: Most of "Kansas City" is in Missouri, but the state line goes right through the city. Nearby "suburbs" include (if you are planning to come, there are probably people listed under these names that would be willing to host you, some are closer to "the good stuff" than ACTUAL Kansas City-ites!)
MISSOURI: Independence, Lee's Summit, Grandview, Belton, Blue Springs.
KANSAS: Prarie Village, Shawnee Mission, Olathe, Kansas City KS,
Good little side trips include: St. Joesph, MO, Lawrence, KS, Weston, MO.

Who is coming? Just add your user name and basic info (date and places you will visit) about your trip here, maybe other members will invite you or meet up with you on the road. Use your profile to tell more about your plans.

Want more guests! I am PEZAMY and I am always willing to meet new people! I am in a good location, but I don't always have a lot of time!

Hospitality Club Meetings
PEZAMY is planning a KC Hospitality Clubbers Party, the date is tentativly set for Friday, March 10th. Location/time not yet determined, if interested contact PEZAMY.

It is a retreat center. Thetravel is more for the internal side although the place is very pleasant and relaxing. The Ozarks are a beautiful region for those who love nature, canoeing and hiking

University of Missouri, music venues, skate park, small downtown area, variety of ethnic restaurants. I recommend you go three hours south of here for canoeing, caving, Ozark sightseeing, or East of here for wineries.
