Paktya is the south eastern province of Afghanistan located at the distance of 120Km from Kabul. The capital city is Gardez. Admninstratively the province is devided into 13 districts which are Gardez,Zurmat,Ahmadaba, Sayed Karam, Shawak, Garda Siray, Mirzaka, Ahmadkhil, Laja Mangal, Chamkany, Jaji Aryub, Dand wa Patan and Jani Khil . Road between Kabul and Paktya is paved by passing through Tera pass. The airport is not suitable for big airplanes. only small planes can land. Bother Pashto and Dari is spoken in the capital Gardiz. While in the districts Only Pashto is spoken. Different tribes of Pashton live in Paktya e.g. Ahmadzai, Totakhil, Mangal, Chamkany, Zurmati, Zadran, Moqbal, Zazi, Ander, Kharoti, Tani, etc. People of Paktya are famous for hospitality. The traditional meal is Dandakai (special rice with meat sauce.
