The Marmara Region is essentially the gate between Europe and Asia. A focal passage point since antiquity it has seen the invasion of countless armies and the establishment successive civilizations. Istanbul embraces two continents with one arm reaching out to Asia and the other to Europe. Through the city's heart, the Bosphorus, course the waters of the Black Sea, the Sea of Marmara and the Golden Horn. The former capital of three successive empires, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman, Istanbul today honors and preserves the legacy of its past while looking forward to a modern future. It is Istanbul's endless variety that fascinates its visitors. The museums, churches, palaces, grand mosques, bazaars and sights of natural beauty seem innumerable.

Introduction to Istanbul:
Istanbul is one of the oldest cities in the world. It was the eastern capital of Rome (and Byzantium). It was a passage way for the Eastern wisdom to pass to Europe, so it had always been a place meeting of cultures and it has always been a pot for melting and fusioning differences . It is one of the sources of civisation!!

Top Things to See and Do
Visit Istanbul!! Ottoman history, mosques (Blue mosque is famous for its huge domes ), churches (Hagia Sophia and Horia church has perfect mosaics), museums (Topkapi palace has incredible unique items), bazaars (spice bazaar and grand pazar will give you an oriental spirit), its perfect views and cafes/ restaurants of bosphorus (a strait that connects Mediterranean sea to Black Sea), its nightlife (that resists to finish at 4am morning), its food, Turkish baths, etc, etc.

Nearby cities/suburbs: Approx 200 km to Bursa and Edirne
