Introduction
In Finland we have this thign called Ostrobothnia... Well, it is a region. Actually it is a four regions: southern Ostrobothnia, the middle Ostrobothnia, northern Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia (Österbotten; you'll find it in the list of regions in Finland). Thousands of years ago this are was actually the bottom of a sea, that is why it is flat almost everywhere. Keski-Pohjanmaa, the middle Ostrobothnia, is a part of this region.
Ostrobothnia is famous for the flat landscape. If you want to see where you are going, come here ;).
The capital is Kokkola, but we do have many other interesting small towns and villages aswell.
A hint: If there us a street sign in Finnish and Swedish, a certain amount of inhabitans are Swedish speaking. If a Swedish word is first, the majority of Finnish are Swedish speaking. Of course you have to know the difference between Finnish and Swedish to recognise those street names...

Top Things to See and Do

A lake called Lestijärvi (located next to a village after the same name) is one of the most beautiful lakes in the area. It is called the pearl of Keski-Pohjanmaa. Try canoeing on Lestijoki, the river: it is an unique experience.
Kalajoki - there are some of the best beaches...

Neighbor regions/States: Other parts of Ostrobothnia. Oulu, the capital of northern Ostrobothnia. Pirkanmaa and Häme with such places as Tampere and Hämeenlinna.
