Introduction
Uzbekistan, in the ancient cradle between the Amu-Darya and Syr-Darya rivers, is the most historically fascinating of the Central Asian republics. Within it are some of the oldest towns in the world, some of the Silk Road's main centres and most of the region's architectural splendours.

I advice you to plan your Uzbekistan tour in a following way:
Tashkent, Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand are the places you need to visit surely.
A)Come to Tashkent by plane.
1-2 days to spend in Tashkent.
B)Fly to Urgench to see Khiva, these towns are close to each other 1-way ticket Tashkent-Urgench=50$, you can by it easily in Tashkent.
1-2 days to spend in Urgench & Khiva
C)Then move to Bukhara by car
Urgench/Khiva - Bukhara by car=15$
1-2 days to spend in Bukhara
D)Then move to Samarkand by car
Bukhara - Samarkand by car=10$
2 days to spend in Samarkand
E)Then move back to Tashkent by car
Samarkand - Tashkent by car=10$
So minimum period for your Uzbekistan journey will be up to 5-7 days. Prices for meals in uzbekistan comparatively to europe are very low, you can spend about 10-15$ a day for rich breakfast&lunch&supper.
Bring USD to uzbekistan, you can easily exchange them to Uzbek currency everywhere.
