The kingdom of Thailand lies in the heart of Southeast Asia, making it a natural gateway to Indochina, Myanmar and Southern China. Its shape and geography divide into four natural regions : the mountains and forests of the North; the vast rice fields of the Central Plains; the semi-arid farm lands of the Northeast plateau; and the tropical islands and long coastline of the peninsula South.
The country comprises 76 provinces that are further divided into districts, subdistricts and villages. Bangkok is the capital city and centre of political, commercial, industrial and cultural activities.
Thailand embraces a rich diversity of cultures and traditions. With its proud history, tropical climate and renowned hospitality, the Kingdom is a never-ending source of fascination and pleasure for international visitors.

Top Things to See and Do
There is never a dull day in Thailand. Whether it is the Songkran Festival or the first cool breeze of the winter season, there is always something to make you smile, laugh, cry or get excited about. Thailand is a land of magic and mystery attracting the Western world in seek of advantage and romance. Blessed with a huge allocation of beautiful natural resources and extraordinary culture, it is no wonder that Thais are such fun-loving people.Quite simply, where else can you find pristine beaches, crystal blue waters, an assortment of activities and a choice of modern or primitive accommodations all in one compact package? Take the opportunity to view the destinations below and see what hidden treasures await you.http://www.tourismthailand.org/
Tips for go backpacking in Thailand: Hostel costs around 5-10$ i guess. I think it's
located in the area that is near to the Royal Palace.
But i don't think it's a good idea to live there.
Transportation is not that good, only one bus passes
Better find a place that is closed to the Skytrain
then it will be much more convenient. You can find a
cheap hotel which costs around 7-15$. The good thing
is that you can share the cost with your friend which
might be cheaper than staying in a hostel.
Another budget option is a home stay or homestay accommodation - it's always cheaper than hotel and you stay out of the tourist ghetto. You can find homestays everywhere, in remoted rural areas as well in Bangkok, on Thonburi, around Taling Chan floating market. Around are traditional houses with orchards, gardens, peace and clean air. Suit family with children as these places is safe and have a terrace under the elevated on stilts house. A much better option of staying in Bangkok than the town centre, with it's noise, pollution, traffic jams and crowds of tourists. In a Taling Chan home-stay you will immerse yourself in a traditional lifestyle and learn a little bit about Thai culture and customs. Walks through the fruit orchards and flower groves make a very challenging experience. You can feel here like living in the traditional thai willage - yet 5 minutes walk is 7/11 shop, cash machine and a daily street market. A short ride there is a famous traditional thai floating market in Taling Chan by the Chakphra Canal. There are several nice homestays in that area - old thai teak wood houses on stilts just overlooking slowly moving canals. You are in the middle of verdant and vast, lush gardens. There is nothing comparable to it in the whole of Thailand - a dream student home stay or a holiday accommodation. Contact: email@example.com thai massage London & Bangkok homestay
I think food in Thailand is the best but cheapest
in the world. Don't go to a fancy restaurant. You can
also find yummy food that costs only 50 cent - 1$.
Don't spend more than 1.5$ per dish, that's too much.
Nice restaurants are everywhere, i would say that just
try anything you find on the street, anything !!! coz
it's very cheap and delicious.
Or take the skytrain to the area like
Siam Square. Another tip is, Shopping centers and
Malls are everywhere in Bangkok, get in and find a
food court... you will have a wide variety of the dish
options which all are very cheap.
