Slovenia is a very beautiful country, expanding on 20.273 square kilometers. It is probably one of the safest countries in Europe for travelers. We have great hostels, lots of fun activities and every traveler is sure to find something to his liking, crazy teenaagers out for a night in town, art lovers and families alike. Top Things to See and Do
Visit Lake Bled & Bohinj for stunning scenery, the Alps on the north, go whitewater rafting, zorbing, swimming, skiing, fishing, hunting, cycling. The Karst region on the south of the country, with a village Lipica, to see the horses or gamble in the casino. You can visit Postojnska Caves, which has the longest tunnels in the world, you can drive in it with a special train. There are another big caves called Skocjan on Karst. On the north eastern part you can visit panonian plain. There is much going on in the capital city Ljubljana, where are a lot of museums, nice bars and nightclubs.
Slovenia is a high-income economy which enjoys the highest GDP per capita (US$20,900 in 2005) of the newly joined EU countries. Since 2007, the official currency is the EURO.
The Republic of Slovenia is a coastal Alpine country in southern Central Europe bordering Italy to the west, the Adriatic Sea to the southwest, Croatia to the south and east, Hungary to the northeast, and Austria to the north.

I am a french traveller on my way to Greece (mostly) by foot and I will pass trought Slovenia from the end of february untill mid March (approximately).
