Introduction
Campina is nicely located between sub-Capathian hills. It was said it is the town with the most sunny days a year in Romania since they built here in the 1970s the first experimental solar house. With 50 000 inhabitants Campina is a nice location to spend vacation or simply a day or two in an un-poluted environment taking nice walks around the area.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%C3%A2mpina)

Top Things to See and Do
Once a year the Town Festival is organized; the memorial house of the biggest national painter, Nicolae Grigorescu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolae_Grigorescu), is located here since he retired to paint in this area by the end of his life. His grave is also in Campina's cimetery. Julia Hasdeu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iulia_Hasdeu_Castle, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iulia_Hasdeu), French language poetess died at age 16 yo in Paris because of tuberculosis. Her father built here a castle after her death, based on her guidelines received through spiritual sessions. The castle has masonic signs in it, BP Hasdeu, her father, being a renouned historian and politician and mason master. Paltinu dam, located 15 km away on the Doftana river, is a wonderful place to visit and spend some quiet time in a tent. The Doftana prison, located 15 km on Doftana river, was one of the worst communist prisons in Romania before Ceausescu's government. Telega salty baths, located at about 20 km on Doftana river, are very good for rheumatic illnesses during summer. They are uncovered baths. Cornu is about 10 km away from Campina offering some Bali Spa resort as well as ecological farm (chicken farm) held by the former Prime Minister of Romania, Mr. Adrian Nastase (Cornu being the town in which he was born). The local library has an English section with more than 10 000 books of all sorts of topics (books for children, economics/management, gardening, English literature, Sandra Brown, etc...), a National Geographic collection, etc...since 2000. A small sloap on the hill of Muscel allow during the heavy winters to practice skiing. When during winters temperature drops well below 0 degree Celsius you may even skate on the Bisericii lake. In summer time Muscel hill is a well known place for picknic, especially during weekends. Doftana Keys are very nice to visit and easy to climb by pasionate alpinists.
