Delft is a nice small student town (100.000 inhabitants) with a long history. It has played an important role in history for the royal family, the east indian trading company and for the trading in the neighborhood. The old centre is pittoresque with its canals and narrow houses. For those who are visiting The Netherlands and/or Amsterdam, Delft is a nice escape from the crowds for a few days.

Top Things to See and Do
Canal trips, princes court (where William of Orange was killed in 1584), Army museum, Pottery museum (famous for Delft blue), Vermeer, have a drink at the 'Beestenmarkt'.
