Tilburg isn't that interesting, it's develloped out of a few farmer villages which cloacked together into one city. In the 18th century King William the 2nd, build his palace in Tilburg for it's restfull surrounding. Tilburg is an industrial and university city now a days. A show around, should be nice for new foreign students. And for people who are interested in the history of the Dutch royal family. But I like it to do show arounds in the nearby cities as well.

Tilburg is a workers town. It has not that many sights to see but it is a nice place.
In summer a few public festivals are organized down town: Festival of Dutch folksongs, Wine & Dine festival, etc.
About 15 km north of Tilburg we have a ferrytales amusementpark: Efteling. And this is not only for kids!
South of Tilburg is Beekse Bergen, a wildlife park with lions etc.
Nature is abundant around the city: Drunense duinen and Moerse hei for good walks and bicycle tours.
