English Saltillo's colonial center, with its imposing cathedral, is the place to start exploring. The cathedral is rich in cultural treasures and local history, and you can even climb up into the bell towers! The downtown area has a handful of nice, smaller galleries, but the real gems to a museum go are the Museo del Desierto (Museum of the Desert) and the Museo del Aves (Bird Museum)--both are fascinating yet inexpensive excursions. Stroll through the gardens of Parque Alameda Zaragoza, with its wonderful topiary and towering cedars. Famous for its tiles and colorful weavings, no visit is complete without stopping at the tile factory and the serape factory. Sarapes are so much a part of the local heritage that their makers have the local Mexican League baseball team named after them (the Saltillo Seraperos)--games are played from April to early September. Português Cuatrocienegas is a place in where are some lakes located in the middle of the desert in which there are some species of submarine wildlife that you can find only in these places, beautiful place to dive and some are thermal.
