Dallas Arboretum, Fair Park(in high-crime area), Six Flags in Arlington, TX, Dallas Museum of Art, Kimball Art Museum in FT. Worth, Ft. Worth Museum of Natural History, 3 IMAX theatres, 3 art houses in Dallas: The Magnolia @ Lemmon & McKinney AVEs, The Inwood near Lovers LN & Preston RD & The Angelika on Mockingbird LN near DART light rail station. The 6th floor Cospiracy Museum. The Deep Ellum area just east of downtown Dallas is full of eclectic nightlife. Also, try the Lizard Lounge @ Swiss and Good Latimer in Deep Ellum. The Lower Greenville Av area is also a place to find preppy nightlife. An alternative to thais is the Exposition Park area just east southeast of Deep Ellum near Fair Park(this is how Deep Ellum used to be before going yuppie).

Dallas is a big city, so there aren't too many horses and cowboys; however, there are some country/western bars and you can take the light rail over to Ft. Worth to see the historic Stockyards. There are a ton of great restarants and bars in Dallas, in all different price ranges, as well as superb shopping, the JFK memorial, the site of the JFK assassination, and the JFK conspiracy museum.
