Introduction
Founded in 1929 (alliance of the former cities of Elberfeld, Barmen, Cronenberg, Vohwinkel, Ronsdorf, Beyenburg). A long urbanized valley with appr. 360.000 inhabitants, surrounded by green hills (350 m high) of the Bergisches Land. The city has its own university (14.500 students) and houses the well-known Institute for Climate, Environment amd Energy.

Connections
Good accessibility (ICE train stop, a lot of gateways on thw motorways A1 and A46, destination to Duesseldorf international airport appr. 35 km).

Top Things to See and Do
Highlights: Wuppertaler Zoo (20 ha, 5.000 animals), worldfamous and unique Schwebebahn (13 m above the river Wupper), architecture from Gründerzeit to Jugendstil, University of Bergisches Land.
Museums: Von der Heydt-Kunstmuseum.
Fun: Bars and Kneipen in district Elberfeld. Make a walk over one of the hills, nice views are guaranteed!
Culture: Dance theatre Pina Bausch, Symfonieorchester Wuppertal and a rich theatre scene of 'Kleinkunst'.
