El slogan más común de la ciudad de Palmares es Un pueblo para hacer amigos. Palmares puede ser considerado como una especie de híbrido entre el plácido pueblo rural costarricense y la confusa ciudad capital. Durante el mes de febrero de cada año tienen lugar Las Fiestas de Palmares, muy conocidas y concurridas: Corridas de toros a la tica, comidas de turno (es decir, de fiestas de pueblo), los clásicos tope y carnaval.
Palmares most common slogan is A town to make friends. Palmares can be considered a hybrid between teh peaceful Costa Rican rural town and the messy city. During february of each year you can visit the Fiestas de Palmares, the town's fair, which are very very known and visited: bullfights, interesting town's fair food, and the classics carnival and the horse show.
