Introduction
Sukhum is the capital of Republic of Abkhazia. It is called Aqua in Abkhaz. All tourists if otherwise stated on the MFA Consular site are supposed to take their visas from the Ministry in Sukhum. The city has the country museum- nature, history and war, which is under renewal at the moment. There are many places for cheap travellers to stay
Top Things to See and Do
There are many historical sites-such as Diaskuria and Bagrat Castle. Museums, monuments, concert halls.
Nearby cities/suburbs: All cities are close, farthest takes 2 hours with a minibus that work everyday. So if you want to move around the country this is the center.

Also, the Botanic Garden is famous in the region, the monkey park seems interesting...
You should visit the war monumentaries to understand these people and their fight to be accepted as an independent Republic!
