Levice (Hungarian: Léva) is a market town in Nitrianksy Kraj. The town lies on the left bank of the lower Hron river.

Tekov Museum and a concert hall are in what was once Doboovsky kaštiel and Kapitánska budova.-----Dobo Chateau built by Dobo Istvan, hero of the Siege of Eger, 1562.------

Levice Hrad is a 13th century castle built on the rocky monticule over marshlands. It protected the road to the monastic fortress of Hronksy Benadik and other mining towns in central Slovakia. The Ottoman troops conquered the castle in 1663. In 1664, however, the Ottoman army was defeated in the battle of Levice by forces led by Commander L. de Souches. The interior was destroyed in 1709 after a battle between Rakoczi´s troops and the Imperial troops. Tekov Museum is in the lower mansion.

Brhlovce rock dwellings are very important remains of folk architecture. The Tekov museum exhibit documents living conditions, construction and folk culture of the people. It received the Europa Nostra award in 1993.

Mýtne Ludany is approximately 10 km from Levice. I tis famous for its vineyards.

Chateau Zeliezovce was owned by the Eszterházy family. Franz Schubert worked here in 1818 and 1824 as a private music teacher for rhe Eszterházy family. There is a Schubert memorial room in Sový zámoček
----Pukanec is a tiny mining town which once enjoyed the status of Free Royal Town. It is known for hand-made pottery production.------
Sitno is a mythical and legendary volcanic mountain in the Štiavnica Mountains There is also a Celtic funeral place, a medieval castle ruins,a botanic nature reserve because of rare species of roses.-----

It is close to Zeliezovce. It is an hour from Nitra, Zlaté Moravce by bus. Komárno and Banska Stiavnica are 2hours away by bus.
