Actually, there are any number of interesting items in the various sections of
the forum! Many language sections as well.
So, would you believe that in some of those sections the latest entry was made
in 2009?
Have a look around, maybe you can change that...

Hello,
I just tried to change my address and my postal code. As the address gets
written with asterisks, I can't know it was updated but for the postal code
(visible) it sure was not updated.

If you are reading this, please go to your profile and check the date of your
last update! Some folks talk with great excitement about their upcoming plans -
some SEVEN years ago - and never thereafter...

It is pretty sad :( I found my first host in HC and it was wonderful.

I often wonder why the primary admin (he/she who pays the hosting fee's) doesn't
feel what are they paying for. HC has pretty much disappeared into the ether so
surely it is money down the drain for admin

Did you notice the "News and Bits" section on the Main Menu page (right after
logging in)? "News", right? The last real post there dates back from 2011. In
2012 - just HC's birthday celebration. Then - nothing. I think this is very
telling. HC is like an abandoned ship, captain, most of the crew and most
travelers have left long time ago. Those who stayed don't have the tools to
maintain the vessel. More and more things are braking (code!), more and more
elements are getting dysfunctional. It's only a matter of time and the
log-in-code will brake. The ship will sink.
Most left to other websites like Be Welcome, Warm Showers or (who doesn't care
about transparency, non-profit nor data-protection) Couch Surfing. And there are
more sites like this. Honestly, I wonder why one should wish to rescue HC? It
would take a lot of work to do so - and what for? What this site would give the
others don't offer? I did not delete my profile here for two reasons: nostalgia
and ... well, it's not really possible to delete the profile, since some of the
voluntares should hit the final delete button. Are there any left?
Best wishes from Istanbul (eh, yes, changing your address takes time -
voluntares have to do the final click...).

@nutka,
it is indeed a sad state of affairs! If possible, target your inquiries!
1 Use private email e-addresses if given.
2 Write to folks who have logged in recently and who have hosted before
3 As Sebastian suggests, contact Veit Kühne
Good luck!
