| Hi, everyone! I am from Latvia and my plans are to visit Italy at the beginning
of October. My destination is Galliate, not far from Milan, in the province of
Novara. So I want to ask if anyone could tell me, how to get from Milan to
Galliate... :) I am a bit confused and don't actually know... Please, help me!!!
:)

| Hallo, Diabelle!
I'm from Rome, not from Milan, let alone Galliate. And I still wonder how
someone from Riga could be in need to go to Galliate... Apparently, there's a
beautiful castle and a natural park. Ah, well. But I'm sure you can find many
informations just surfing the net from a research engine.
From Milan, there are trains starting mailnly from Milano Nord Cadorna station
almost every hour. You can find timings on www.trenitalia.it (ops, well, it
seems it's only in italian... hope you manage some word... if not, ask me
again)
Ehem, I wasn't of a great help, was I? Sorry... All the best to you anyway. One
day I must go and have a look at Galliate, too.

| Hi Renate!
I was in Novara last year, I stayed with some friends but unfortunately they are
not living there anynmore... :-(
To get there, you can take trains from either Milano Centrale (main station) or
Milano Cadorna. If you arrive by plane to Malpensa airport, there are also buses
that can take you directly to Novara. It is usually 1:30 hours away.
And for more information there is happily, an english version of trenitalia:
http://www.trenitalia.com/home/en/index.html
I hope this helps you a little...
Take care and have fun!

| Hi, Renate!
I'm Giuseppe, I live in Milano and I'm just (some weeks) back from Riga (sigh,
sigh...).
I agree with Luca, may be the best way to reach Galliate from Milano is to take
a local train from Cadorna train station, in the city center (3,90 eur, 1 hour
trip more or less, http://www.ferrovienord.it/tamtam/index.htm )
and with Franco for Malpensa airport (bus from Malpensa airport to Novara (more
or less 1 bus each 2 hours from 8:00h to 21.00h, 50 minutes trip,
http://www.stnnet.it/novaramalpensa2004.html ) and then local train from Novara
Nord train station to Galliate (1 eur, 6 minutes trip,
http://www.ferrovienord.it/tamtam/index.htm )).
Very often I travel for job from Milano to Torino, I can bring you in Galliate
if we have the same hours.
Says to me if you need some other information, for a place to stay in Milano, to
drink a glass of wine...
Enjoy your trip, bye, Giuseppe |
