My advise to remove non active members will also save tera bites of space in the
server and hospitality club will run smooth. members those are not logging from
last 3 to 5 years should be removed.

Your advice into Veit's ears!
But since he does not log in, and since it seems that all of HC's actions or
non- are in his hands....

I'll contact Veit about this,
a solution I would agree with is to send a round mail and ask anyone who want to
keep the account to login within a timeframe, after that the accounts with last
login older than say 3Years are removed.

This is a good idea! Because it's frustrating as hell trying to find a host when
everyone in any given city - and so far that's EVERYWHERE I've tried to go
lately - has not logged in in over 10 years!!

And I think it should be a 1-year cut off and not 3 years. Someone who last
logged in like 3 years ago is probably not still THERE, or their situation has
changed. At least that's the kind of reply I'm getting when people DO bother to
reply, and that's the ones who listed their Skype address and I've tried to
contact them on Skype not through this site. I don't think ANYBODY checks their
email that they used on this site anymore.

Hi,
I have another viewpoint.
There is in everybodies live a time, when I am very active and also very
stressed because of family or job or illness or other important things. After
this time the most of people want to renew their connections with friends and
hosts and guests.
I ask all the hosts for contact . It is easy when I am at home, it is possible
when I am travelling.
I would prefer a way, if a member want to delete his own profile by himself.
Want do You mean about?

if this site would work as in the time, when I get in in 2007.... I would be
more active as well... it is not. I guess, a lot of before actives just
enter 2-3 times a year - like me.

Perhaps you should try another site! couchsurfing.com
Sad to say, but for me it looks like hospitalityclub is almost dead - even it
was the first site of this kind. If someone try to contact me via email - yes, I
would answer. As for ICQ or skype I'm gone. Today its facebook/messanger,
whatsapp.
