If you've been around HC for some time, you know that I am a very active
participant. My husband and I have hosted many folks from HC, and also CS and
BeW over the years.
I just responded to a local need for a host through CS. Alas, I was rejected
because apparently I don't fulfill their minimum of percentage points necessary
for hosting. I could improve my percentage points, however.
a) log on through facebook - I will NEVER expose my fb contacts willingly
    to any other organization!
b) get verfied - ha! If I have $ 25 to spare for hospitality groups, I'd sooner

lavish it on my guests or hosts, but NEVER for CS's schemes
c) flesh out my profile with more photos - there's one picture, so anyone can
    clearly identify me, so NO.
I will report this impertinence whereever hospitality is an issue!
You may want to do the same thing... Meanwhile, concentrate on this rather more
friendly community at HC!

I know that many of us maintain - and use - multiple memberships. I wonder
whether you are approached by the CS profiteers in a similar manner? Why don't
you tell us your experiences, please?

Your message is old and I am not sure if you will get it, but I have to say that
all similar website have their own rules. I am a member of CS and I strongly
disagree with connecting them to personal FB as that would connect them to all
you are connected. NO WAY. It is also not agreeable to pay them $25 as they are
making money from sheer (and false) number of people registered on their website
i.e. advertising, investors, selling it in the future as CS with huge membership
(which is a big lie).

However, if it only takes to add more photos to your photo album, why not? What
is it you are object to? Publishing picture of your guest room, some photo of
your city and area, some photo of your trips. It would be nice to have one
photo of yourself there as proof that you actually exist and introducing
yourself to possible host or guest.

If you have filled in all sections of the Profile, then together with some more
photos should be just fine. If you are a decent person and are willing to also
repay the kindness of others by hosting other members in your home, then you are
more than welcome.

Yes, CS is not what it used to be, they advertise it heavily as "travel World
FREE" attracting those who really think they can travel free and use other
people's resources and hospitality without even a thought of returning the
favour in some other way or opening their home to other travellers.

@maganjay
the points I made in my original post still hold true. The CS stated assumption
of 'free travel all over the world' has attracted many folks to membership who
are NOT tuned into the hospex idea and take that assumption literally. We are
active in HC, CS and that small but friendly Bewelcome.org (I recommend that
one!). The least desirable guests have always come from CS! Currently we do not
accept guests from them because we are tired of inconsiderate, demanding,
incommunicative individuals who expect nothing but a free bed, travel with
friends who are not even members of any of the hospex organizations in their own
right.
Admittedly, in a pinch I have CS for hosts - with acceptable results.
