I've been stayed in Crimea for quite a long time. I'm Ukrainian and i speak
Ukrainian. It's our state language. Crimean peninsular is a part of Ukraine and
state language in Crimea is Ukrainian.
I walked quite a long yesterday. So i had to take a bus from centre Yalta to one
district of Yalta city. It was 22.50. I asked in Ukrainian driver please, stap
at the next bus stop. When we were so close to that bus stop i asked second
time, then repeated few times more. But driver continued move. He stoped really
far from the place i live at and told "Hay girl, if u wish to be in Crimea,
speak russian. If no, go thruogh dark street and haha" I speak russin if i need
this for my job, but i would never use if for such a dikey like that driver.
It's better to walk on the dark street than speak with person who understand
Ukrainian in Russian.
If it would happent in Lviv with russian speaking girl i sure we would see it on
TV news that discrimination of manority. And it ahppens with Ukrainians it have
to be. So what do u think about this?????????
P.S. The reason is not a nationality, but culture of person!

You didn't speak "chelovecheski" (human language) and here you have.
Russian culture is a real example for a mankind.

@Dimok and friends:

How it happened that if you draw a line between a ukrainian speaking ,
pro-orange revolution part of Ukraine and russian speaking pro-Yanukovich part -
you will get a border of former Rzeczpospolita.
If it was so much "faschist" state and needed to be liberated by soviet Russia?
Somehow this propaganda has some gaps. Medvidiev and his commission probably
must think hard how to explain it.

Whats up with aniversary of Poltava battle and Mazepas on the swedish side? Very
unconvienient? I will not watch Taras Bulba movie, it's better to have a beer
and not loose time, especially when I have lost in on 1612 film. That was crap.

When I was in Ukraine, I was surprised why so many ppl speak Russian instead of
their national language. And I agree, discrimination of the majority is always
tolerated :/ (not even in Ukraine). I hope it was just one event with this jerk,
and not a general problem you had.

Take care

And I was suprised that people from as far east as Xarkiv learn ukrainian and
use it as their first language now.

But there are much smaller countries with two or more state languages. Belgium,
Switzerland. Or there are countries like Ireland where people don't speak their
native language almost at all.
On the other hand I'm pretty sure the driver understood and he was simply a
nasty unclefu..r
