#0 A boat from Iran to India?... Mon 29 Oct 07 18:31:15

Hi everyone!
I'm in Iran and I need to find the way to get out of here (not that I want to,
but somehow my visa expires pretty soon...) and since the border with Pakistan
is closed and airplane companies demand some silly things from me (like a return
ticket! return to where? I have nowhere to return to, only moving forward's an
option!) ;), I need to find another mean of transport. Someone told me that
there is a boat going from Bander Abbas to India, but I can't find any info
about it.
So if You happen to know or know who might know, or know who might know to know
who might know, please, let me KNOW! ;)
A big kiss from Tehran!

Kasia

There is no passenger ferry service from Iran to India.

Your best bet is to try and get a ride on a container ship at the Bandar-e-Abbas
port.

Hi Kasia

how r u ?
im Human from Holland, i didnt know that u went to Iran. but nice warm regard to
my mother country.
i wrote that you wanna go to India and there is no conection at this moment
between Iran and Pakistan, i think this is true.
Im sure there is no passenger ferry between Bandar-Abas and India or Pkistan,
there are just contanair boat, and i dont think that you can get in for going to
India.
maybe the best one at this moment is air plan to Pakistan and that is
expensieve.
let me know that you are still in Tehran or in Iran or no.

Hi

I dont know where are you now & could you find your way to India or not . hope
its be useful for you .
listen dear the best way is going by ferry through Bandarabbas (Iran) to sharje
or Dubai (UAE) .Valfajr shipping company in Bandarabbas has regular passenger
shipping from B.A to UAE several times in a week & there in Dubai is too easy
to countinue your way to India . I work in Tourism Org of B.A and see a lot of
travelers & tourist who choose this way instead of going through Pakistan to
India.

best regard

Hey!
Thanks for the replies!
Mihai: The border between Iran and Pakistan is not entirely closed, but for ppl
from EU it's not possible to get the visa, because our embassies refuse to issue
the recommendation letters that are required to receive the permission to enter
the country. Sad but true, they don't want to take the responsibility for the
risk (but after all I think I'm a big girl and can be responsible for
myself!...) ;) It's all new, about 2-3 weeks ago the situation in Pakistan went
bad, there was a military revolt and now they have the emergency state, lots of
people arrested killed and other unpleasant things of the kind.

Human! Great to hear from You! How are You? Yes, I'm still in Iran, traveling a
bit, but most of the time spending between Tehran and Rasht, where I have my
good friends.

Mehrdad! Thanks for the offer, I'll call You when I'm sure I can get Indian visa
(it seemed just an insignificant detail that I don't have it yet, but now I'm
waiting and waiting and there's no reply from the embassy...) :(

Hormoz: Thank You for Your researches, I'm slowly getting used to the idea that
I'll need to fly... ;(

Kisses to all of You from the rainy Tehran!
Kasia
